I want to maintain my body weight, how often should I be working out?

That really depends on how many calories you are in-taking per day. The more calories that you are eating the more you should be working out. The average person needs to participate in at least 20 minutes of cardiovascular activity at least 5 times per week.


I am overweight and I have a lot of fat on my stomach area. I do not like cardio training, but I would like to weight train. Can I achieve my desired fat loss without cardio?

A balanced workout contains part weight training and part cardio. You should include both in your workout routine for best results. If you only weight train, the chances are that you will bulk up and still carry extra fat.

Do I need special shoes for a fitness routine?

Most likely, yes you will need special shoes for a fitness routine. However, basic running shoes will work for low impact cardio routines. For the best shoe selection for you and your workout be sure to consult a fitness trainer and a shoe professional.
